Starting A Vending Business – How To Approach A Big Box Store & Get Your Vending Machines Placed!

Every chain store has their own sort of entity. What you are going to find to be the best way is to go in and talk with the local manager of the store. You want to actually set it up this way because that is the best way to find out and get your information right.
One thing to consider is that some of these bigger chain stores might have a contract with a company already. What happens is that some bigger companies in cities will put bids out. What a bid is, basically like an application, or you have to fill out an application to bid on putting in vending machines in this facility.
You wouldn’t just be providing vending machines for that store, you would be providing vending machines for a bunch of stores in that area, like their chain of stores.
But your first source of contact would be to contact the management first, and simply ask them, What is your vending situation like here? Do you have any vending machines? How is the service? I have a couple of machines that I would like to place here.
If you are going to go full line vending, like coffee, food, pop, and snacks kind then you can just ask them what the process is of submitting a proposal. At the end of the day, whether you are bidding on it to the franchise store, you are going to be presenting some sort of proposal to them, which is going to outline your company name, who you are, what you do, the service that you provide, and what you’re offering, along with your contact info in a formal kind of way.
I would say the best thing is; instead of going right to the corporate office, go to the local management and ask what they feel is the best route to take with that. Once you get into the corporate end of things, like corporate management, you could be chasing most people all day long for months and months. There are some websites out there that actually you can go to where you can be a member of their site and see what bids are coming up in your area.
It will tell you what company’s and organizations in bigger city’s and towns, what bids are coming out for vending services in your area. Then you can bid on those accounts. You can type in on Google in your area, “bids for vending services” or “confectionary services” or something like that.
At the end of the day once you make an attempt to close a deal on one of the big box stores be prepared for a time consuming process to get your vending machines placed. But on the other hand who knows you may just get lucky and be able to work out a deal with the store branch manager and get your machines placed.
But before you have your machines placed make sure that you try and get the store to agree to some sort of contract where maybe you can lock in your vending machine services for a year or two.
Then just make sure that you hold up to your end of the agreement and make sure you machines are taken care of and restocked on a regular basis.
This will ensure longevity in your vending machine business.

When starting out in the vending machine business the beat way to do it is by not spending a fortune on your machines.
The key is to find good quality vending machines for the very best price them place them on a location that will allow you to pay off the machine as quickly as possible so you can start to take your profits and reinvest in new equipment and again place them on locations in your community.
This formula will make you money and build your vending business the right way. Going about your business in this manner will also provide you with the most income in the long run. Don’t just make your money then spend it right away. Even if you do try to put a little to the side for the purchase of your next machine will help.
Making money in the vending business really depends on a few factors. First the types of machines that you are using to make money with and more importantly the products that you are selling in the machines.
Profit margins and sales volume are king in vending. You could have the nicest machine but if there is no traffic at your location you won’t make a dime. Plus you need to be selling products that offer high profit margins so you actually make some money.
I have always found that selling soda cans or bottles and snacks like chips, chocolate bars, gum, cookies and candies are the best sellers in my vending machines. I have found that these products offer high profit margins and are really easy to sell.
Like I said the trick is to find your machines for a good price when starting out so do some homework and research before spending your hard earned money on your first vending machine.
This leg work that you now do in the beginning will help you in the long run. One thing to make sure of also is to be sure that whatever machine that you want to buy make sure that you can get parts for them.
This is important because if your machine breaks for any reason you will want to be sure that you can get it fixed as soon as possible so you do not risk losing your account and making your customers unhappy.
Take this information and use it to get started. This is just a snippet of what you can do in the vending business. If you really want to make some serious money in the vending business then you will eventually want to learn strategies for finding your locations because this is the most important part of the business.

Starting A Vending Machine Business The Right Way

Making money in the vending machine business with soda vending machines can be very profitable. Think about it soda cans offer high profit margins and can make you a lot of money in your vending business.
As a vending operator myself for over 9 years now I have always found soda vending to be a great income source.
The key to really building your vending business and making the most money from it is to have some good quality locations with some regular consistent sales running through your machines then taking your earnings and reinvesting them into your business by buying more machines to grow your vending business.
This is critical to your success. Along with finding the right machines for the right price is another critical component. The problem that a lot of new people getting into the business face are that they end up spending far too much money on their first few machines then find poor locations to place them at and find that they do not bring in the money that they were expecting.
To avoid this type of situation it is really in your best interest to spend some time to learn as much as you can about the vending business first before even buying one single machine.
Think about it for a minute, what if you decided to jump in to quickly and bought a vending machine for $1500.00. Then a few months later as you were searching for another machine found out that you could have bought that same machine for $1000.00.
Well you over spent by $500.00 dollars which is pretty significant and is not unheard of for a new person getting into the business. But what if you spent a few weeks reading all that you could on the business. Let’s even say you spent $50.00 – $100.00 on a few e books and information products to get you up to speed on the business.
You would now be very well informed and know exactly what you have to do to get started and most importantly keep as much as you’re hard earned money in your pocket as possible. Now that would make more sense and you saved a bunch of money and now are educated about the business.
This is what you must do before any business that you get into in my personal opinion. Research and homework are essential to any business venture as well and for sure the vending business. It pays to educate yourself and in the end you will stand the best chance for success in the vending machine business.

Vending Tips – How To Start A Vending Machine Business

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

I hope you enjoy the article!

Are you thinking about getting started in the vending machine business? Maybe buying some machines and making money on a part time basis? There’s definitely money to be made in the vending machine business. If you’re thinking about getting started, before you even go out and buy your first vending machine, there are a few things to consider and think about.
The first question to ask yourself should be what is your game plan when you’re going out to get started? If you think about it, you’re making an investment in the business. You’re making a financial investment in actually buying some machines to get started. You want to make sure that you find the right machines for the right price, you’re getting them on locations properly and you’re actually starting to drive income in the business. Then you can reinvest that money and build the business. That’s the right way to do things. Let’s talk about three things today to get you started on the right foot in your vending machine business.
Here is another question to ask yourself when you’re first getting started is, what are the right machines to buy when starting out? In my opinion as a vending business entrepreneur for over nine years now, I’ve always found pop machines or soda vending machines to be the most profitable source of income.
Specifically, selling cans of pop through the vending machine. A couple of the advantages of pop machines are that you can find them relatively cheap, for a good price because there’s such an abundance of them out in the market place. Buying a used machine is, in my opinion, the best way to get started. New machines are fairly expensive and buying used is the best way to do it.
These types of machines are a good profitable income source as there is a high profit margin on the cans of pop. Basically what that means is, you buy the cans at a wholesale price and then you sell it at the retail price and then in between is your profit margin. That’s why I like the cans of pop.
Another reason why I like selling pop is that they have long expiry dates compared to a bag of chips or a sandwich out of a food machine. A bag of chips, when you buy a box or a case of chips, you have maybe a month or six to eight weeks to use those chips or a sandwich has a matter of a couple of days.
Pop has many months for an expiry date, that’s one of the big reasons I like selling cans of pop. Finally, you’ve got to think about this too from a branding and advertising perspective, the two major bottling companies out there do all the marketing, branding and advertising for you, which means that when your customers come to your machine, they’re already pre-sold before they even spend their money.
They already know when they’re coming to the machine what they want. They don’t have to stand there and try and think. They see the product selection in there; they know what they want to buy. That’s why I think pop machines and soda machines are the best way to go to get started.

How To Find Great Deals On Used Soda Vending Machines

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I hope you enjoy the article!

Here is a great question to think about when looking at before getting started. Where are you going to buy these machines? Let’s talk about some of the places where you can buy some of these used can soda vending machines.
One way to find vending machines in your area is to use a vending machine distributor. A great way to do that is by looking in your telephone book. Or, what a lot of people tend to do now-a-days is use their local search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN.
Just go to your search engine bar and type in vending machine distributor and make sure you type in your city name in that search phrase.
The web pages will come up, a list of them and you can scroll through and find one in your area. If you live in an area that has a metropolitan population in the tens of thousands then you should be able to find a distributor to get some prices and ideas of what you’re looking at.
The second way to do this is to go to e bay and type in vending machines into the search bar, you can find a whole different variety of pop machines to choose from and find a lot of people selling them. I’m talking hundreds and hundreds of machines that you will find.
That’s a great place to actually sit and spend a little bit of time looking for the different types of machines and getting to know the price ranges of the ones that are being sold on there and see how much money you should be spending.
Another great website to find used soda machines is Kijiji. Kijiji is not like e bay. E bay is an auction site whereas kijiji is more of a classified site, an ad site where you can post an ad and you can respond to an ad.
This company is worldwide where you can get very specific with your city and find soda vending machines in your community and find people in your local area. Here you will find either other vending service operators that are selling machines or possibly some people who have started in the business but now are just selling off their machines.
In any case be sure to ask some questions before buying any machines. Be sure that the machine is in good working order and ask them to test it out when you go and look at it. The last thing that you want to happen is that the machine doesn’t work once you bring it to your new location.
Those are a couple different ways to find your soda and pop vending machines to get started with.
